ABEL Cigar Ashtray
Many Abel fly fishing reel customers are unaware of the many products that Steve Abel created that we included in our catalogs. Here is one that he designed for cigar enthusiasts.
There was a time that Steve was totally into tarpon fishing and he spent much time in Key West. Key West being a famous location for Cuban cigar makers, Steve watched, analyzed and purchased many cigars. He then realized that rolling and making cigars was similar to tying your own flies. Thus, he came up with the ABEL Cigar Rolling kit. He then added different components, and this ashtray was modeled after his reels, in fact parts of it are ABEL reel parts. It includes a base that is machined aluminum and gold anodized with 2 cigar rests, a center part that is removable to empty, a guillotine cutter, and 2 plug cutters which he machined out of brass.
This is a new item and one of the most beautiful, customized, machined, cigar ashtrays ever made and it was hand machined by Steve Abel himself. He only made about 10 of these. Highly collectible.
